Holy Savior Catholic elementary school year end barbecue huge success

Holy Savior Catholic elementary school celebrated the end of a very successful school year; bringing parents, guardians, students, staff and their community together for a special event.

MARATHON—The month of June is always busy for local schools and students, as it represents the end of so many activities and the beginning of summer vacation. For Holy Savior Catholic elementary school, one important activity proved to be a great success; their year end BBQ and family night.

This celebration served to show what the community of Holy Savior High School is all about. The school described it as, “a strong community of people working to serve, learn and celebrate together, educating the heart, mind and soul.”

School principal, Terri Harmer and staff thanked Holy Savior parent council for, “their efforts to host another incredible school community event that involves so many people that support students and families,” they said. The day also had ponies from Fisher Family farms, and volunteers from the community to help with activities.

Students, families and staff came out to participate and have fun. The school sent special thanks to their educators and students for featuring their outdoor learning exhibits and adventures in the trails. These were examples of the types of outdoor activities, organized by school staff and teachers, for that day's celebrations.

The board senior team, consisting of director Maria Vasanelli, superintendent Kerry Desjardin and plant department manager, Barry Biggs travelled to Marathon to join their celebration.

Holy Savior Catholic elementary school principal and staff, thanked the senior team for all the behind the scenes work that supported and developed their learning spaces.

Principal Harmer, staff and students, described the day as an amazing evening that facilitated the bringing of the entire school community together.
