NIPIGON —  A section of Highway 11 north of Nipigon was closed late Tuesday morning to allow for the removal of an aircraft.

Ontario 511 reported the closure at 11:56 a.m.

It said the road was blocked off in both directions at Polly Lake Road, where a small plane made an emergency landing at the end of January.

An OPP spokesperson said the aircraft would take off from the highway.

The closure lasted less than an hour, and the road was reopened to traffic.
