CONSTANCE LAKE FIRST NATION — Police seized about $30,000 worth of drugs and arrested two suspects following the search of a Constance Lake First Nation home Tuesday.

Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s intelligence unit and emergency response team executed a search warrant at a home on Ma-Chitch Crescent in Constance Lake First Nation on Tuesday night.

NAPS investigators obtained the warrant as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity from that home.

Following the search, police located and seized a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, oxycontin pills, methamphetamine pills, hydromorphone pills, cash, a firearm, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

The estimated street value of narcotics seized totals more than $30,000.

Three suspects, all from Constance Lake First Nation, were arrested without incident.

Two men, aged 40 and 64, and a 33-year-old woman were brought into police custody.

Police laid multiple charges on the 40-year-old male and the female, including various drug trafficking offences and firearms-related charges. Both were remanded into custody.

The third suspect is facing a single drug trafficking charge and was released.

All three have future dates in court.
