Cocaine seized from home in Webequie

NAPS has arrested and charged three in connection to drug trafficking in Webequie First Nation.

WEBEQUIE – According to the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, on Feb. 3 officers with the Intelligence Unit and Emergency Response Team searched a residential address in Webequie First Nation.

NAPS stated that a warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into the activity of the home.

As a result of the search, police seized a quantity of cocaine and cash believed to exceed $5,000.

Three suspects were arrested without incident.

Two women from Webequie First Nation, ages 30 and 33 years old, are charged with possession of proceeds obtained by crime and trafficking of cocaine.

A 27-year-old Webequie First Nation man is charged with trafficking cocaine

All three suspects were released with conditions and future court appearance dates.
