A 39-year-old is facing multiple charges after a 911 call Saturday afternoon reported someone carrying knives and uttering threats downtown.

Around 3:50 p.m., a 911 call was made reporting the incident near Albert Street East and Bruce Street while a second 911 call reported the individual throwing an object at a passing vehicle.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded and arrested the individual.

She has been charged with:

  • possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • mischief under $5,000
  • fail to comply with probation order

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
