NIPIGON — Come one, come all.

The Edge Arts Studio is hosting a farmers/vendors market on July 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The market will feature visual art by artists who have done workshops at the Edge Arts in addition to other artisanal goods from local vendors.

Bernadette Langthorne, program facilitator at Edge Arts, told Dougall Media the market is an annual event usually hosted by the Legion Branch 32.

“They’ve had a real hard time with (getting) volunteers . . . to run it, so they weren’t going to host one this year,” she said.

Langthorne said she saw it as a good opportunity to give artists a platform to showcase and sell their work.

“Just trying to get some activity happening (in) downtown Nipigon on a Saturday morning,” she said.

“We want it to be a fun kind of atmosphere, maybe get people to come out on a regular basis . . . I have people coming with baking, I have artisans, I have people selling T-shirts and that sort of stuff.”

She added she currently has around eight vendors so far but she has room for up to 16.

Tables can be purchased for $10.

Langthorne encouraged vendors and volunteers to reach out to her if they are interested in participating in the market.

“I could always use help. Mostly, it’s the setting up of tables and that sort of thing,” she said.

“I’d never turn away help.”

For more information or to book a table for the event, call Edge Arts at 807-889-2108 or send an email to edgearts@nipigon.net.
