74-year-old motorcyclist collides with moose

Schreiber OPP and Superior North Emergency Medical Services were called to aid a motorist who collided with a moose.

SCHREIBER – According to OPP Northwest Region, Schreiber OPP, Superior North Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Terrace Bay Fire Department responded to a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a moose near Blackbird Creek on Highway 17 on July 12. 

Upon investigating the scene, they found an injured 74-year-old motorcyclist from Kaministiquia.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital by EMS to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The OPP encourages motorists to be mindful of wildlife along roads and highways as the moose are on the loose.
