MANITOUWADGE — A Manitouwadge man has been charged by Ontario Provincial Police after officers searched a home in the community on Wednesday.

OPP said in a media release that multiple police units, including officers from the Manitouwadge and Marathon detachments, executed a search warrant at the home on Partridge Avenue.

According to police, they seized about 100 grams of cocaine and 76 hydromorphone pills. The combined street value of the drugs, OPP said, is an estimated $12,500.

Officers also allegedly found a switchblade and over $4,000 in cash.

The 61-year-old man was charged with trafficking cocaine and opioids, possession of a prohibited weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused was released from custody, police said, and is scheduled to be in court on Friday.
