A Cup of Joy Coffee Shop has launched in Nipigon and is not only a haven for coffee enthusiasts, but a testament to the power of family bonds.
Austen, a young entrepreneur with a passion for brewing exceptional coffee, brought her dream to life with the support of her family.
Prior to Austen's entrepreneurial venture, the intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed coffee was absent from the charming aisles of Twigs in Bloom, her grandparents' home décor store.
“My grandparents and my parents both helped a lot when we were renovating and making it. So it's a combined effort.” Austen said.
Austen envisioned creating a warm and inviting space where people could gather, connect, and savour the simple pleasures of a perfectly crafted cup.
With the support and encouragement of her parents and grandparents, Austen transformed a part of Twigs in Bloom into her own coffee haven, A Cup of Joy.
The shop, brimming with Austen's passion and her grandparents' love, is quickly becoming a beloved gathering spot for the Nipigon community.
At A Cup of Joy, coffee is not just a beverage; it's an art form. Austen, a coffee connoisseur, is sourcing her beans from St. Paul Roastery in Thunder Bay, ensuring that every cup is a symphony of fresh roasted flavours.
Her creations range from classic espressos and lattes to more adventurous concoctions like the cinnamon bun latte, a seasonal favourite that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike.
Cup of Joy's menu features a variety of delectable beverages, including the signature cinnamon bun latte, vanilla lattes, caramel lattes, pumpkin spice lattes, gingerbread lattes, and a selection of teas.
Austen and her family are constantly seeking new and innovative ways to enhance the Cup of Joy experience.
“We have a new sitting area right beside the coffee shop, so if people wanted to come and sit and have a coffee. In the summer, we usually have a bunch of chairs outside, umbrellas, in a little courtyard outside,” Austen said.
A Cup of Joy is becoming a beloved addition to the Nipigon community.
