The Maintenance & Shipping/Receiving Labourer will be responsible for performing regular maintenance on front of house equipment, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and assisting with general upkeep of the front of house venues. In addition, this role will include managing shipping and receiving duties, ensuring timely and accurate delivery and receipt of materials and products.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily maintenance and inspections of front of house equipment. (dishwashers, ovens, air conditioning units, furnaces etc.)
Assistance in event set up and tear down.
Management and scheduling of contractors relating to compliance of the kitchens and buildings pertaining to front of house operations.
Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they arise.
Manage and maintain the front of house physical infrastructure, including cleaning and repairing buildings, floors, and other areas.
Lead in maintaining a safe and clean work environment, following OHS safety standards, take instruction from safety committee.
Oversee the shipping and receiving process, including fulfillment of inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials, supplies, and finished products.
Verify inventory, inspect shipments for accuracy, and report discrepancies.
Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance around front of house and operational needs.
Follow a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.
Order parts and supplies as needed for repairs and upkeep.
Document maintenance activities, repair logs, and safety inspections.
Ensure that all work areas are organized and comply with the distillery's health and safety protocols.
Schedule and supervise any trades on site to carry our repairs/maintenance on front of house equipment & site related maintenance activities.
Maintain sidewalks and roadways on site. (snow removal, grass cutting etc.)
Winter maintenance the site and all buildings.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications or trade school training is a plus).
Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including inventory management and shipping documentation an asset.
Ability to work with tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work outside regular hours when needed for urgent repairs or shipment needs.
Forklift certification and experience (or willingness to obtain certification).
Driver’s license and clean abstract.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, above the waist.
Comfortable working in various weather conditions and in a physically demanding environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
