A notice of emergency water disruption was delivered by township employees to some Manitouwadge residents Wednesday morning.

The notice advises that the Public Works department will be making necessary repairs to the municipal water distribution system on Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the work is completed. The Township of Manitouwadge later clarified on their Facebook page that the work would take place between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on each of these days, with water being available in the evening and overnight hours.

They recommend residents check their front doors for the notices posted on affected residences.

Taps should be flushed after water is restored for the day.

Some village square retail outlets and restaurants may be affected by the water shutoff. Customers may want to contact the business before heading downtown.

The Township Office will be closed to the public on those days, due to the water being shut off during business hours, but phone inquiries will still be handled during regular business hours by calling the Township office at 807-826-3227.

Regular business hours will resume on Jan. 9.
