GREENSTONE — One individual is facing impaired driving charges after his vehicle was reported to the Ontario Provincial Police for being in a ditch near Nakina.
The OPP said that officers of its Greenstone Detachment responded to the report of a vehicle in a ditch in the area of Exton Road at roughly 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, with the report indicating that the driver of the vehicle was possibly impaired.
When officers attended the scene, they spoke to the driver of the subject vehicle and determined that he was impaired.
Police said that the driver was subsequently arrested and transported back to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.
Through investigation, a 41-year-old from Nakina has been charged with two counts of impaired driving.
Police issued a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Greenstone court next month.
