TERRACE BAY--At the recent Township of Terrace Bay council meeting, council was given an update on the Tbaytel’s Fibre-to-Home project, for their community.
Town CAO Jon Hall, provided an update on this project which Mayor Jody Davis spoke to.
Council reviewed the fact that as originally announced last year, this project was part of a $4.2 million dollar funding from the provincial government to the Township of Marathon and Terrace Bay.
The project also includes a multi-million dollar capital investment by Tbaytel and their commitment towards time and resources required for the design, the build and the implementation of this project.
Having completed this Fibre-to-Home project for the Township of Marathon, with their Tbaytel Store opening, earlier this year, the next phase is to start and complete this project for Terrace Bay.
According to Mayor Davis, the Town contacted Tbaytel and learned that the project has begun, with council hoping to have this completed by the end of the first quarter in 2023.
“Hopefully in the spring next year people will be able to start shopping with Tbaytel and start singing up for their Fibre-to-Home system that they are providing us with,” stated Davis.
