NIPIGON — Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the death of a resident of Nipigon.
The remains of a 34-year-old woman were recovered Saturday evening.
OPP called in their underwater search and recovery unit after unsuccessfully searching Friday for a person who was reported in distress in the water at the Nipigon Marina.
In a brief statement Tuesday, police said the investigation is continuing under the direction of the criminal investigations branch in conjunction with the office of the chief coroner of Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
