GREENSTONE — An Olympic gold medalist will be a special instructor at a hockey clinic taking place next week.

The Greenstone Economic Development Commission, along with the Municipality of Greenstone and the Geraldton and Longlac minor hockey, will hold an event on Sept. 12 at the Geraldton Arena featuring Katie Weatherston, a Thunder Bay forward on the 2006 Canadian women's Olympic hockey team that captured gold.

There will be two hour-long sessions, with the first at 6 p.m. for skaters between the ages of six and nine, followed by one at 7 p.m. for skaters between the ages of 10 and 14.

Both sessions are free, but are capped at 25 participants for each. Registration is available on the Greenstone municipal website.
