MARTEN FALLS — A male resident was charged for assaulting a peace officer in Marten Falls First Nation.
Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) working out of the Marten Falls First Nation detachment responded to a disturbance call at a residential address on Tuesday afternoon.
While on duty, an officer was attacked and did not sustain any serious injury.
The accused has since been taken into custody and transported to the NAPS detachment for a bail hearing held on Wednesday.
The 52-year-old resident now faces charges for assault to a peace officer and failure to comply with undertaking.
The man was remanded into custody with a future court appearance date.
It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
