MARATHON — One sweet golf swing led to a local resident collecting a $10,000 prize.

Jim Principe notched a hole-in-one — his first ever — during the Souckey Chiropractic Two-man Scramble Golf Tournament held at Peninsula Golf Course in Marathon earlier this month.

In his first shot of the round to kick off the tournament, Principe found the cup with a six-iron on the 164-yard fourth hole to collect $10,000.

Nawiinginokiima Forest Management Corporation (NFMC), which sponsored the hole-in-one via Galon’s Insurance (Canada Hole in One Insurance), congratulated Principe on the feat.
