Erratic driving leads to impaired driving arrest

MARATHON — A 19-year-old faces impaired driving charges after being stopped by provincial police over the weekend.

Police said officers in Marathon saw a vehicle being driven erratically on Peninsula Road on Saturday morning, leading to a traffic stop.

The officers allege the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and taken to the local OPP detachment.

The accused has been charged with several counts relating to impaired driving, and has been released from custody with a November court date.
