SCHREIBER, ON — A collision between a passenger car and a moose left the driver uninjured but demonstrated the perils of driving on the highway at night in Northern Ontario.

The Schreiber OPP detachment posted photos on social media Tuesday morning from the scene of a weekend collision on Highway 17 near Pays Plat First Nation.

The images show that the vehicle incurred heavy damage.

Although the moose was killed, members of the First Nation were able to harvest it for community use.

Police said the collision is a reminder of the need to be vigilant for wildlife while driving at night.
