Collision halts highway 11 near Long Lake 58

The Ontario Ministry of Transport (MTO) has closed Highway 11 in both directions in what is being deemed a “shitshow” on social media after a transport truck collision.

GREENSTONE — The Ontario Ministry of Transport (MTO) has closed Highway 11 in both directions after a transport truck collision.

According to the MTO, all lanes are closed on the highway near Long Lake 58 First Nation, but Facebook users on the NWORoad.ca page say a detour can be used by entering the First Nation community.

According to OPP Northwest Region, just before 10:00 a.m., officers with the Greenstone OPP Detachment and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the collision.

One individual was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 27-year-old individual from Winnipeg, Manitoba was charged with careless driving.
