BEARDMORE — Highway 11 was closed for several hours Monday night after a tractor-trailer caught fire near Orient Bay.
OPP said they were alerted to the situation at about 9:40 pm, and sent officers from Nipigon and Greenstone to the scene.
Photos posted on social media showed the trailer engulfed in flames, but a police spokesperson said the truck driver was able to remove the tractor from the trailer before the fire could spread to it.
Firefighters from Nipigon and Beardmore responded and extinguished the fire.
Police said the highway was closed until about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
